BRITISH COUNCIL UK/KENYA SEASON
The British Council & The Africa Centre‘s UK-Kenya Season of Culture launch was a beautiful convergence of culture, identity, and creative exchange. With powerful words from esteemed speakers Olu Alake, Oba Nsugbe KC SAN Lord Ray Collins of Highbury, H.E. Ambassador Catherine karemu Wahome, Kate Ewart-Biggs OBE, and Sandra Chege the evening was a celebration of artistic legacy and future vision.
I was grateful to attend as a Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) honouree — thank you to Jonathan Olufowobi, CEO of MIPAD, for the opportunity to be there; to Olu Alake, CEO of The Africa Centre, for his cheery welcome as ever; and to Audrey Mpunzwana trustee of The Africa Centre, for sharing insight into the Young Africa Centre.
Cultural arts remain at the core of how I create, connect, and contribute — I left transformed.
